enfilade

a French word for a buffet or server like piece of furniture that is particularly long (at least 3 if not 4 doors) and which may also be taller than the average buffet or server – The element in distinguishing a server or buffet from an enfilade is scale.  An enfilade brings stature to a room.  The French even use the same word in architecture for a long gallery or series of rooms that are aligned and  connected so as to provide a sweeping view.
