vetrine

a glass-paneled cabinet for displaying fine items – derived from the French word vitre, pane of glass

Don't confuse a vetrine with a verrio.  While both are for display, verrios are be wall-mounted and smaller, vitrines are self-standing and somewhat larger but still not dominating pieces.
