buffet deux corps

a larger scale cabinet made up of two sections, top and bottom – deux corps is French for “two bodies” -  While the bottom sections of these are typically solid paneled (enclosed), the top sections may be either solid or glass paneled. These pieces, along with armoires, were among the most favored pieces in a traditional home as they were central for display and/or storage of often-used items.
