Blue and white is classic, and Deflt pottery or "Delftware" is classic blue and white.   The name refers to the tin-glazed pottery made in or around the town of Delft in The Netherlands continually since the 16th century.

The initial production of Delft was significant for all of Europe as, prior to this, all porcelain was produced in Asia.  With the advent of pottery produced in Europe, porcelain with truly European designs and motifs was possible.

We are proud to offer the Metroplex's largest collection of Delft pottery and, having toured both of the remaining Delft factories, we can explain the production process and other details to you with first-hand knowledge.
